This year the COVID-19 is all around us. I could not help but wonder how Ramadan looks like this year. Is there any difference? How does it feel and look? Since there are contact restrictions in place, I planned of documenting the evening dinners (iftar) through video calls. I decided to ask around my friends from all over the world, who are devoted muslims. From Berlin to Bangladesh, from India to the UK.

Jodhpur was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, way before the pink city of Jaipur (1727), and it is known for its blue painted buildings around the Mehrangarh Fort. There are many theories on why the buildings were painted blue. The most popular one is that it protects buildings from the heat. Another theory says that the color is associated with the Brahmins (cast of priests and teachers). Jodhpur is also called the Sun City due to its climate and location in the Thar Desert. The sunny and bright weather is present all year long.

My friend Mine and I took a flight with Spicejet from Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. The airport in Varanasi was modern and well organized. After an uncomplicated check-in and boarding (hats off, Spicejet!), we took off and arrived in Jaipur two hours later in the evening. Once we grabbed our luggage, we ordered our Uber car and headed to our accommodations.
